About the report
Blackpool is an area facing important challenges in social mobility: it is in the 15 most deprived Local Authorities (LAs) in terms of education, employment, income and crime and it has unique characteristics, such as a large population of transient renters.
With a large list of possible programmes and approaches to improve outcomes in these areas, Alma Economics worked with Blackpool Council to provide insights into the nature of social mobility challenges facing Blackpool and how interventions implemented by Department for Education’s Opportunity Area could be targeted to achieve greater impact.
