Modelling and analytics

Modelling is critical to understanding the impact of public policy, including effectiveness, value-for-money and unintended consequences.

Our models are flexible, scalable and can handle a wide range of alternative scenarios. They support communication of complex analysis.

Our knowledge of cutting-edge database architecture and technologies means we build models incorporating vast amounts of data across multiple, complex data sources.

This is achieved while ensuring they remain easy to work with – including through the development of user-friendly graphical interfaces removing the need for non-technical users to directly engage with the underlying code, equations and data.

CASE STUDY

Housing market forecasts

We’ve developed advanced forecasting models to predict key macroeconomic and housing market indicators in the short- and medium-term, including an innovative approach to measuring land prices. Our forecasts reflect baseline, upside and downside scenarios for the UK economy based on wider social, political and technological developments.

CASE STUDY

Housing microsimulation modelling

We built a complex microsimulation model to estimate the impact of the benefits system on housing affordability and homelessness. This enables an in-depth understanding of how different reform options impact different households across the UK.
