Cyffin Thomas - Social Researcher
Cyffin is one of Alma Economics’ social researchers. He has direct experience of the process of policymaking, including from his work co-chairing the LGBTQ+ section of a major political party in Wales.
As a researcher, Cyffin cut his teeth using qualitative and quantitative methods to study the impact of climate-related consultations on government policy while completing an MSc in Public Policy at University College London. He gained further familiarity with policy development and implementation while writing his dissertation, using quantitative content analysis to study the long-term strategic planning of Welsh local authorities.
In addition to his master’s degree, Cyffin also holds a BA in History and Politics from Cambridge University.
When not at his desk, Cyffin is likely to be found on a windy mountainside. An avid cyclist and former ski instructor, he’s no stranger to the wilderness!
