Maisha Hassan - Economist
Maisha is an Economist and Bid Manager who combines a background in economics with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Her role at Alma is to find fresh opportunities for projects and identify potential partners and collaborations for our team.
Prior to joining our Commercial Team, Maisha contributed to a Royal Economic Society-funded initiative aimed at promoting diversity within the economics sector. She also completed an internship at a trailblazing microcredit institution in Southeast Asia, providing her with invaluable insights into how economic theories translate to people’s lives.
Real-world outcomes have always been at the centre of Maisha’s interest in economic research; she earned her BSc at Warwick University after writing a dissertation on the impact of environmental conditions such as air quality on the happiness of Londoners.
That said, she also has a fondness for fictional worlds. A huge film buff, she has a particular appreciation for the work of Studio Ghibli and Quentin Tarantino.
