Daniel Haile – Principal Economist

Daniel is a Principal Economist with a background in health, social care and international relations.

Daniel is skilled in data analysis and using research and evidence to support policymaking. Prior to joining Alma, he worked in the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and most recently in the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) where he led economic analysis of the department’s plans on social care and housing. He has worked on a wide range of issues, from the macroeconomics of emerging economies in Central Asia, to conflict reduction in sub-Saharan Africa, to modelling England's Primary Care workforce.

Daniel holds an MSc in Economics (Distinction) from University College London and a BA in History and Economics from the University of Oxford.

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys running and climbing and keeps promising himself he will start playing football again.
