Alma Economics worked with the Scottish Government to provide analysis and reporting on the responses to a public consultation and a series of engagement sessions on the draft Scottish National Adaptation Plan 3 (SNAP3). Scotland’s third National Adaptation Plan addresses the latest UK Climate Change Risk Assessment (UKCCRA3), as mandated by the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009 and recommended by the Climate Change Committee (CCC).
Our team conducted a comprehensive analysis of the 240 consultation responses received from individuals and organisations, with 91% submitted via the online platform Citizen Space and 9% received directly via email. Additionally, we analysed written summaries from 16 engagement events that sought to capture insights from individuals with lived experiences and technical expertise relevant to the draft Adaptation Plan, covering diverse geographical areas in Scotland.
Our findings will inform policy development and refinement of the final 5-year statutory plan to be published in September 2024.
