Maria Paula Barahona - Economist
Maria Paula is an experienced economist with expertise in finance and econometric analysis.
She previously held a position as an Economic Research Assistant at the University of Sussex, where her work included examining the effects of remittances and public transfers on agricultural outcomes and food security for rural households. She has also worked in the Central Bank of Costa Rica, where she conducted economic research.
Maria Paula holds an MSc in Development Economics from the University of Sussex, and a BSc in Economics from the University of Costa Rica.
Maria Paula loves jewellery and uses that passion to help manage her family’s small jewellery business in Costa Rica. She also likes reading, travelling, and learning new languages - ideally all at the same time.
