Kristen is the Head of Comms & Creative at Alma, overseeing the company’s communications strategy and leading the creative team’s initiatives across multiple channels.

An award-winning writer with 20 years of combined experience in brand storytelling, content creation, digital marketing, and television production, she has worked with high-profile brands such as London Drugs, Education Week, Keratin Complex, and Travel Insured International. Prior to joining Alma, Kristen worked for five years as the Senior Copywriter for Yoga Joint, leading content efforts on a major rebrand that saw the company grow from 3 to 19 studios between 2020 and 2025.

A recipient of a Georgie Award® for Best Marketing Campaign of the Year (2018) for her work on residential development, Gabriola Park, she was hand-selected to participate in the Writers Guild of Canada(WGC)/Bell Media Diverse Screenwriters Program (2013), before going on to work as a researcher and story assistant at the Investigation Discovery channel. Her short film Tapestry (co-writer) won Best Short Film Script at the London Greek Film Festival, International Independent Film Awards, and Canada Film Festival. A 2022 jury member of the Ferrara Film Festival, she remains a steadfast supporter of independent cinema and loves working with up-and-coming writers and filmmakers.

In her non-existent spare time, you can find Kristen getting dragged around by her beloved high-energy rescue pup, Ollie, renovating her mountain home, or working on her passion project: a series of children’s fantasy/adventure novels.
