José is a Senior Economist at Alma, experienced in leading teams and projects in economic research and private equity.

He has specialised in designing and applying advanced quantitative methodologies (Event Study, PSM, Agent-Based Modelling) to inform high-stakes policy and investment strategy. Prior to joining Alma, he was a research assistant at the London School of Economics and worked for a Chilean think tank.

José holds two master’s degrees; an MPA in Economic Policy (Distinction) from the LSE and an MSc in Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He also holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering.

He likes cycling and watching football—in fact, he is a huge supporter of the Universidad Católica football team in Chile. José is a fan of Britpop and Latin American Rock music and recently attended the famous Oasis concert at Wembley. He also volunteers for a soup kitchen in London.
