Dr Victoria Mousteri

Principal Economist

Victoria is a Principal Economist with strong academic and applied experience in microeconomic modelling, economic impact analysis, policy evaluation, and forecasting.

She has played an important role in much of our research on key issues around homelessness, housing, inequality, and tax policy. Victoria has led major work for the World Bank, the Welsh Government, the Scottish Government, and numerous UK government departments and local authorities. Prior to joining Alma, she worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant, conducting research, delivering tutorials, and teaching economics at various academic institutions.

Victoria holds an MSc in Economic Theory from Uppsala University and a PhD from the University of Stirling, where she investigated employment outcomes and their links to psychological wellbeing and mental health.

In her spare time, Victoria explores the wonderful universe of science fiction through film and literature. She is also a part-time detective, searching for her special apple-cutting knife in the kitchen for the better part of last year – the biggest unsolved mystery of Alma to this day.
