Elin is a Welsh-speaking Social Researcher who has spent nearly a decade conducting mixed-methods research on language policy and education with a focus on school-based research.
Before joining Alma, Elin worked on several government-funded research projects in the Higher Education sector. She was a Research Fellow at the Institute of Education (IOE) at University College London for the DfE-funded National Consortium for Languages Education, where she researched languages education in England. At UCL, Elin was also awarded an IOE Impact Fellowship and a place in the UCL Knowledge Broker Academy.
Elin also worked at Cardiff University as a Research Assistant and spent time as a Research Intern at the Welsh Government, researching languages education in Wales.
She holds a PhD from Cardiff University on multilingual education in the Curriculum for Wales, an MSc in Social Science Research Methods (Distinction), and a BA (First-Class Honours) in Welsh and French from the same institution.
Elin volunteers as a school governor and is an avid hiker, as well as someone who loves learning new languages – on the weekends, you’ll find her out in the Welsh mountains camping in her van!
