David joined Alma Economics in 2025 as a Senior Economist & Data Scientist, bringing cross-sector experience in government and consulting.
As an economist, David is skilled in applying cost-benefit analysis and utilising econometric methods for causal inference. As a data scientist, he is proficient at combining machine learning techniques and text analysis with statistical methods to address policy problems.
David holds an MSc in Data Science and Public Policy (Economics) from University College London. For his Master’s thesis, he developed a novel approach to measuring the labour-market impacts of AI on the UK economy using Large Language Models. He also has a BSc in Economics with Industrial Experience (First-Class Honours) from the University of Exeter.
David’s greatest passion is channelling his creative energy in all manner of ways. From creating a board game to running Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, he is always looking for the next project to get stuck into. In his downtime, you will often find him out on the trails or exploring a new part of the city in search of its culinary delights.
